The Lord of the Rings Mod 1.7.10 is a huge expansion planned for Minecraft that will aim to add the world of Middle-earth into the game. This will include content from J.R.R. Tolkien’s most famous work, the Lord of the Rings series, and eventually other related tales such as the Hobbit and the Silmarillion.
The Lord of the Rings Mod is a huge mod that adds the realm of Middle Earth to Minecraft as a new dimension. The new dimension is accessed by throwing a Gold Ring (made out of 9 Gold Nuggets) into any source of fire, such as lava or something that is burning. Bringing Middle-earth to minecraft. Ok, so I have run through the main quest-line using creative and stuff, and take a look around, just so that I could catch up and see how much stuff there is to this before tolkiencraft 3 is complete.
This mod adds in a new dimension filled with tons of content. The dimension itself features lots of biomes with a large variety of randomly generated structures. When you get to Middle-Earth you have the choice to become good or evil! This is a great RPG experience because there are many different types of gear, and mobs to fight.

How to install:
- Make sure you have already installed Minecraft Forge.
- Locate the minecraft application folder.
- On windows open Run from the start menu, type %appdata% and click Run.
- On mac open finder, hold down ALT and click Go then Library in the top menu bar. Open the folder Application Support and look for Minecraft.
- Place the mod you have just downloaded (.jar file) into the Mods folder.
- When you launch Minecraft and click the mods button you should now see the mod is installed.
